Masaka Courts Strengthen Data Management and Reporting Through CCAS Training
Judicial officers and non-judicial staff from Masaka High Court and Masaka Chief Magistrates Court have undergone training aimed at strengthening data management, reporting and the effective use of the Court Case Administration System (CCAS).
The training, held on 18 August 2026 at Masaka High Court, was facilitated by the Principal Information Management Officer, Mr Joseph Ssinabulya.
The engagement sought to enhance participants’ understanding and utilisation of CCAS, with emphasis on improving the accuracy, completeness and reliability of court data used for case management, performance monitoring and reporting.
Participants were taken through key CCAS features and system components, system functionalities, user categories and their respective roles, as well as common mistakes that can compromise the quality of data captured in the system.
The training also focused on best practices that court staff should adopt to improve the registration and updating of cases and ensure that information captured in CCAS accurately reflects the work undertaken by the courts.
A key outcome of the training was a resolution to establish a Data Management Committee comprising judicial officers, court clerks and registry staff.
The Committee will meet weekly to review the integrity of data entered into CCAS, identify emerging data-management challenges and devise appropriate solutions to ensure proper case registration, timely updating of records and accurate reporting.
The initiative is expected to strengthen accountability for court data and improve the quality of information available for decision-making, performance assessment and effective administration of justice within the Masaka courts.
